Clock not working!

Clock not working!
We have a 1984 RHD 1.9 petrol. The clock on the right hand side of the dash doesn't work. Any known issues??

where to start? Copper connections? Relay? Gunk, stickey clock hands? Fuse? All small and dealable with the proper examination. Get dirty and get busy:)
T25 1985-19D water cooled. owned her for three years now. On second engine, VW Caddy 19diesel.
