Hey guys
I don't know if this is the right spot to post in.. but the other day I was driving my 82 Aircooled 2.0, automatic t25, and it just basically shut off, and I finally got it going again after about a half hour.. that was a week ago, and was the last time I drove it. Over this last week we drove up to the lake district in our non VW, and that car broke down, and is sitting in our drive way, so I went to get into the van today and it started up, idled for a couple mins, and it just shut off... then I tried a few hours later, it started up, idled, and just cut out and wouldnt start.
So now when I try to start it, it just keeps turning over, there is petrol in the carbs, and the fuel filter/pump are brand new...
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Van wont start....

Are you getting a spark at the plugs or king lead?

I pulled the coil wire out of the cap and tested it, it sparked, plugged it back into the cap and it started right up.. who knows.. I drove it around a few miles and it was fine haha

Maybe it's telling you to change the lead set? cap and rotor arm?....

Check you've got them all plugged in properly, sometimes the rubber boot stops the contacts from pushing fully home. It's better to slide the boot up the lead, plug the lead in, then slide the boot back into place.
