oil light woes
problem i have the oil light does not come on, i have changed both oil switches in the engine bay and have also changed the led bulb, occasionally the led flickers very dimly. anyhow i take the led out and reverse the connections put it all back together everything looks fine, start her up the oil light comes on and stays on. so i turn led around again and it just does not come on. the engine has only done 50k cheers in advance
Re: oil light woes
Hello there. I have a similar problem with my recently bought 1983 T25 1.9 petrol. I never noticed when I bought her but the oil light has never come on. Could this be a warning light failure as the main beam (blue) light doesn't work either? If so are these led's easy to change? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Re: oil light woes
the leds only work one way, yes easy to do maplins do the get 12 volt ones though
Re: oil light woes
Thanks for that. Is it likely though that both would go? I think I've bought a bit of a lemon and wondered wether the seller has disconected the oil light. She drives OK apart from the problem with the temp gauge which I enquired about previously. Didn't realise you could get the lights from Maplins. How would I go about changing them as I can't find any mention in the Haynes manual?. Cheers

Re: oil light woes
pull the dash pod cover off, under it you will find your brake fluid tub, disconnect speedo cables, and some of the wires to the switches and its all pretty straight forward from there. the leds have a positive and a negative side so will only work one way. hope it helps
