If I plug an accessory into the cigar lighter which battery is the power being taken from Main or Leisure ? I have conventional electrics unchanged since van built in 1985. Cigar lighter works without ignition key on.
Basic stuff I know but if the Leisure battery is discharged until flat ( I know you shouldn't completely flatten any battery ) then am I correct in thinking that the main starting battery charge level is unaffected.
Simple stuff I know but nobody actually tells you these things you are just assumed to know.

Re: cigar lighter power source
really easy to check, plug something in then disconnect the leisure battery.
Most people rewire it to the leisure, really easily done and info in the wikki .

Re: cigar lighter power source
Pionte - I need to wire in a new Cigar lighter socket onto my leisure battery - but for the life of me can't find where on the wiki it explains how? can you (or anyone else) point me in the right direction?
Cheers.

Re: cigar lighter power source
Thanks for that Baldy. The only problem is that the bloke I bought the camper from thought he was good at electrics - he wasn't. So I'm not keen of moding the existing stuff as I have know idea if it has already been tinkered with. I'm ideally looking for a new (simple) system I can work straight off of the leisure battery. Currently there's a corroded cigar lighter with an inline fuse holder off of the battery but I'm lead to believe this is less then ideal. Any suggestions?
Cheers.
