Post by Threescoops »

Hi all

we have an a Reg 1983 camper which needs a new exhaust system, i have been reading wiki and i see that we should have the early exhaust fitted however it appears that we actually have the later one fitted, is this normal?? why would it be like this?

Your 1983 camper would originally have the early exhaust system. If just the silencer box was being replaced then you would have to fit an early one BUT! If the entire system is replaced you can fit the later system. :)

later exhausts are a lot quieter and supposedly give a little more power....
Though I never really noticed the latter.

So do you have the silencer support brackets fitted like this..

thanks...yeah ours looks like the photo (altho not as sparkling!!) we need to replace the whole thing we are thinking of getting a bespoke exhaust made from a local company we have used before (depending on the quote) as i think the cost of the stainless ones from brickwerks will be a very similar price to what they will quote us...unless you have any other suggestions? :)

I would consider others... but the brickwerks one is a DIRECT copy of yours.. so no fitting issues or faffing about
