Hi all,
Sorry to post on this subject as I know it's been done to death but I'm still none the wiser as to what are the best options for R'n'R beds and seat belts in a T3?
I've recently bought a syncro camper with a leisure-drive interior and I was so appalled by the fold down bed (plywood screwed in with wood screws) that I instantly removed it.
This was 3 days before my planned holiday to Wales with my wife and 4 year old twins.
As I was in a hurry, I very foolishly bought an adjustable width bed from JustSkamers who not only managed to not include any instructions with the bed but also omitted a major part which I had to drive 50 miles to collect.(first and last time i ever use them).
My van has factory lap belts so I fitted securon 500/cv's to the rear posts with spreader plates and used the existing lap belt catch. Works well with a full width bed and is safe as the belts are independent of the seat(not so safe as it's adjustable and therefore not a welded structure.)
Needless to say, I now need to rip out the justskankers bed and find a solution for a 3/4 bed with seat belts built in . I like the look of the multivan seats but they're full width. Did wesfalia have a usable, safe bed/seat?
Has anyone used seats/beds from t4's or t5's? What about Caldron in Notts? He has seats with built in seatbelts but they're not tested.
Any advice, warnings are greatly appreciated.

I built my own https://club8090.co.uk/wiki/Ca ... build_beds" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It can be made to any length/width and could be made to take belts with suitable heavy duty pieces welded in. I used existing points on bulkhead but its a flexible solution if you can MIG (or have a friend who can). Stronger than any commercial ones I've come across. I just got fed up with not finding anything I was happy putting my kids on so made one and bolted it in.
