Choking Up When Cold

Post by SeasideVanagon »

Hi

My 1991 2.1 appears to be choking up when cold (as described to me)

Any ideas?

Help....

It's causing mechanics a lot of teeth sucking.

is it 2.1 injection or a carbed 2.1??? if its injection check any temperature sensors are ok it might be over fueling ??

most likely then a temp probe , Im not that used to the vw 2.1 injection system but most injection systems use a temp probe to work out cold start, if the probe is faulty they often default to excess fuel
