was going to do a couple NT campsites, but they want £61 for two nights

Probably too late with this reply but I've just come back from the Lakes and I stayed at Hollow's Farm, an NT site at Grange in Borrowdale, for £6 per person per night with free showers.

Gonna try that tomorrow, so cheers for that.

bet your in the part where th road goes through the river in a chipping car park

We saw that place, but looked really well used, so gave it a miss (could imagine it turning into a dogging site at nightfall )
Did some of the waterfalls Ian, but not one you could walk behind? Maybe next time.
I'm in the lakes now, didn't book any sites quite busy up here isn't it! So on a farm tonight. Going to spend a couple of nights on a proper site, then hopefully a few couple of nights wild camping before we head home

your right it does look like a dogging area(not that i know what 1 looks like)but its a nice quiet spot during the week but on the weekend its full of youngsters partying.
