It's expensive but Durdle Door Campsite has amazing views and good facilities. Just a stones throw away from Lulworth Cove, Man O' War Bay and Durdle Door itself.

And the staff are amazing. Well, Aidie (??) the security man is (former RAC man). He helped us break into our van after we lost our keys on the way down to Lulworth Cove. He had the patience of a Saint spending an hour getting the door open at midnight with a chilly wind blowing.

Fortunately we had a spare set in the van but if you do go keep an eye out for our keys

I have to admit I am biased as we used to go there as kids in my dad's old Thames Dormerville so I absolutely love the place!! Very fond memories :D

If you do stay there is a field at the far end with hookup overlooking the sea (see above pic) but it does get a bit windy there.

Try having a look on http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; they have a good selection and the reviews are useful. Hope you have a lovely hols! Dorset is a beautiful county, the only negative we found that it was very dog unfriendly, but you should be OK as no dog.
Good luck
Max

Agreed, we've found that to be the best website for campsites. We've found the best method is to narrow it down to a few sites in the area and then read some of the reviews. That normally gives you a feel for the place.

Highly recommend Highlands End Farm Holiday Park, Eype, Bridport. +44 (0) 1308 422139

Super facilities including swimming pool, gym, pub and restaurant on site. Can be a bit breezy if the wind gets up.

Downshay Farm at Harmon's Cross is a great place. Lovely huge field with a view to die for of Corfe Castle and a real life steam train tootling past periodically.
