Just a quickie (like for like engine swop)

Post by 'GHOSTWHEEL' »

Hi,

Can any one confirm that an 1984 1.9DG engine is suitable to bolt straight into a 1987 1.9DG van? Is the '84 engine classed as a late one and nothing will have to be changed in the 87 van. Ive found an 1984 engine for sale. Also DOES NOT COME WITH STARTER, ALTERNATOR, DISTRIBUTOR, CARB, COIL. Can i use those of my 87 engine?

thanks

Andy

The basic engine will but you'll have to lose the early (84 is early) waterpump etc and replace it from the host motor which should be late at 87.
