Correct sealant for wbx crankcase?

Post by silverbullet »

Yes I have checked the wiki but it doesn't jump out at me, so what to use? The engine I have opened up for rebuild seems to have a yellow tacky compound that looks suspiciously like Wellseal, but I just thought I'd check first
I also intend to get quantity of special oil pump sealing nuts in from our supplier if anyone's interested, as I'll be damned if I'm paying £2.50 each  + vat + post + pack for 4 poxy nuts from Heritage

Pays your money and takes your choice, from the research I did it seemed to be:

Laurie Petit - Kuril K2
Marco Mansi - Kuril T
Tencent - Reinzosil
Ben - The Right Stuff (I think)

:ok

I'll see what I can lay my hands on then!

It turns out that oil pump nuts are a VW special part that goes back to beetle days with a 111...part number :(
