Tri~chloro~ethylene.
Petrol

Use the hair dryer again to soften it if its hard
Cellulose will take the paint off and the glue :D

I am a car valeter by trade and I use a great glue remover which is made by Autosmart. I cannot remember the exact name of the product but I will have a look for you tomorrow and PM you with the brand name, I guarantee it will do the trick without damaging your paintwork.

My local Auto Smart supplier is a guy called Mark his tel no is 07831 269500. They have depots all over the UK but a call to him will give you your local Auto Smart supplier and they supply the valeting trade. The product is called Jel Sol and I have used it for all sorts of glue removal on paints, fabrics - all surfaces and it has never damaged anything. It will even get chewing gum out of carpets. I can highly recomend it.
PS I am not trying to plug Auto Smart - I only use them for a few specialist products. If you need a product for a job which is a little out of the ordinary they will most likley be able to supply something that will do the job.
Glad to hear that your van looks great!
Phil
