new pump fitted but no fuel in hose

Post by djhammy »

Hi guys just fitted a nice hd Brickwerks fuel pump and it pumps like a dream but when I go to start engine after stopping for a period of time there seems to be no fuel in the pipe going into the pump. I have to put a hand pump on to get the fuel upto the pump then it works fine. the pump seems unable to pump the fuel up. Is this an air lock/vacuum and if so is it a case of damaged fuel hose? I have replaced all in the engine bay. The fuel flows freely from the tank. It's driving me nuts so if you can help. Thanks Dave
