Thanks y'all...

Just got my replacement box fitted (after fixing a few probs, like an input shaft that literally fell out unexpectedlyr:) ) and it's as good as I thought when driving the donor (forgot how quiet, smooth and great handling std 14" Syncros are, incredible roadholding!)

Thanks to Neil for taking my old box up to Warrington asap (and donating your old broken driveshaft* to the cause :wink: )
Aidan for advice and support at all times and sending badly needed (unexpected) parts for new box quicktime too :ok

Pete & Sharon for lots of things, including putting us up, storage and helping strip the new truck down.

Andy Mc for helping get the engine & box out quickly

Melly (over the road) for loaning tools, getting spares 'n oil and a nice g/box cradle*

My bro for letting me use his yard (with a concrete slab, a lifesaver after years of gravel surfaces)

Oh yes, the AA for a great 3-way Relay back from Wales

Must be someone else I've forgooten.. ? Oh yes, Jenny xxx

*Adapted a landrover gbox cradle with a few threaded holes, grub screws and a 4" length form Neils old driveshaft to fit my trolley jack... easiest I've ever slid a transaxle in to a Syncro (but it was on concrete this time)

=========

PS. Aidan has now reported on my original box I broke at SP, seems it just has a bent selector fork, making 'R' drone a bit and preventing 'G' selection. Seems to think it might have been half in and out of gear when I dumped the clutch rolling backwards. Lucky, could have been a lot worse..
Duh! Will be more careful in future

You're very welcome Clive, glad to hear its in at last. A decent cradle does make the job easier doesn't it.
