Probably been covered thousands of times but nothing like having fresh opinions!
Now my bus is kinda how i want it, i'm going to be using it a lot more. Likely to be me and the family with no other vans on a lot of occasions.
So, things i'll likely never need, but worth having on the van
waffle boards, 38mm or 50mm, what ones do we need (any links to amazingly good, cheap ones?)

shovel/axe/saw, the fold up type, any links to some that are half decent?

oh and dont go too far of the beaten track. see hotpots thread it is very easy too get in to trouble.

Waffle boards are for poseurs (at least until I get some) .
Off-road on your own, be sensible and enjoy it. If it's good enough for farmers and ozzies, its good enough for us. If you need recovery equipment take a mobile phone with number of a mate with a disco', tea, coffee, hamlet cigars, can-do mentality, ability to so no and turn back, a fit bird or a 45 series land cruiser, not necessarily in that order

This is 38mm boards, seems to be no problem with lighter syncros, dokas, sikas etc. For more hd use and heavier vans, go for 50mm for the peace of mind.

Neil, does Estwing's warranty cover theft by any chance (if so, I'm off to get one. as I rather like the idea of flying hammers)
