What will fit? Carrat wheels

Post by Mark Foss »

what other alternative tyres will fit a set of carrat wheels other than 205/70 R14?
I would like to re shoe my alloys and was wondering what the alternatives are?

Many thanks Mark

185R14C are fine for this rim, they were fitted with both sizes from the factory afaik, but there's some deals to be had on Vanco195s noted below

205/70/14's were the factory fitted 2WD option as the alloys are slightly wider than steel wheels fitted with 185R14's.

Like I said,185R14C's can be fitted but they are not ideal as the alloy rim edge is exposed so it's open to kerb damage.

I run 185 14C Michelin Agilis and they're great in snow, quiet and smooth. Went through thick mud up hills and generally into mad max territory at Glastonbury last month and they were excellent, even suprised myself although I think 5 blokes an dvna full of gear may have helped over the rear end to give traction......se my thread on cheap continental vancos.
