But if you wish to go Busman route, here is their site..

Damn decent of you Micky, I'd occassionally thought about getting a 16" ex-army that you see sometimes see advertised. Cheap flight (if there is such a thing anymore) out & drive it back via the Northland (see santa!
). Do-able? from a paperwork point of view?

I think its about 3 weeks to get export plates etc sorted in sweden.Patrik can ship to Harwich for you if you dont want to travel. He is as honest as the day is long on his descriptions. It is worth going in person though as you get to see his legendary secret underground bunker
I drove one back from Estonia. Have seen a few 14" finish hi top ambulances sell for sub £2k money, fortunately i have extended family over there (SILs sister speaks fluent english and her dad is a mechanic).Saw one for £900 but needed welding on cills/arch etc . Their DVLA is a nightmare but 'doable' , LOTS of queueing up for hours to get docs/insurance sorted.
Dont want to tell you how to suck eggs but you really need to sit down and do the sums on import cost , everything from flights/fuel/bridge fee's/ferries etc etc + any time lost if your self employed etc etc if you are considering getting it yourself as it does add up.

Re: Importing from Finland - costs & contact?
ok, seriously considering flying out in august and driving my booty back. How doable is that? can I just buy a legal vehicle in sweden/norway/finland? insure it on the chassis number with Footman James or the like and make good my escape over the border? Anyone done anything similar?
Re: Importing from Finland - costs & contact?
Sounds a good idea, but i think you need export plates and insurance organised from abroad by the seller as you would need a uk mot and tax to get uk insurance. I'm not sure how export plates would work either really as its illegal for a UK citizen to drive a foreign registered vehicle in the UK. I found this out after i had been driving my south african split bus about after i had got an MOT and insurance of the chassis number. but i was still not legal!
