A 17 year old driver ran into the back of the syncro in Norfolk last week.

Doh.. Hope everyone was ok
At least its just a new bumper and end cap...
And in the process the UK has one less Metro on the roads, that's got to be a good thing!!

We hardly felt a bump, all four of us and the two dogs
were fine. The teenager was not so amused. I can see why the bumper end caps are plastic. If they were solid then a lot more damage would have been caused. The front of the metro went under the van, it's sometimes good to be high up.

The exhaust has taken a big hit, and the silencer is dented, I am taking the syncro to Syncrospares for a quote for the repair. The exhaust note has changed since the accident, but has covered 500 miles since.

The lad simply drove in the back of us whilst we waited at a T Junction, no skid marks, except in his trousers when his dad arrived. (happened 300m from his house)

He had a struggle to open his door as the wing had pushed back into it.

I have forgotten how much of a hassle being involved in an accident is.

I had just replaced the brake light switches 3 weeks before as they were getting a little slow, and replaced all the rear cluster bulbs as they were a bit dim. The high level led lights had also just been fitted. Cant help poor driving. He had just had an argument with his parents and was driving angry.

How will this pan out if there is engine damage from an insurance perspective? Could his insurance company write your Syncro off, irrespective of an 'agreed value' you might have with your insurance company? Did your towbar move in the bump or did it kink the chassis rail?

I guess I will need and independent garage to assess the damage, and then the insurance company will deal. Will take a long time me thinks. Still a good excuse to go to syncrospares on Monday.
