Re: Alternator bolt

All the fasteners are M8 (13mm spanner/socket) the long bolt on which the alt. pivots (part # 8 ) is M8 x 75mm.

Re: Alternator bolt
thanks ian, have got that, but bolts 7 and 10 have a water pipe running in front of them so cannot get a spanner on, the bracket looks like it has ruptured this pipe, but don't want to take it off in case i can't get a new one, its the pipe that has the dipstick bracket attached to it.Ian Hulley wrote:

Re: Alternator bolt
Thanks for finding them ian, they don't look right, my van is an 87 but the engine is earlier 82-85 the pipe is solid and seems to go from the water pump and attaches to the block under the alternator, and has a bracket for the dipstick attached to it, if i can't find a new one i suppose i will have to go secondhand. thanks Dave.Ian Hulley wrote:davidm1164 wrote: thanks ian, have got that, but bolts 7 and 10 have a water pipe running in front of them so cannot get a spanner on, the bracket looks like it has ruptured this pipe, but don't want to take it off in case i can't get a new one, its the pipe that has the dipstick bracket attached to it.
