How hard is it to find a replacement t25 instrument panel

Post by redmist »

Hi, this is my first post (and probably not my last)
As stated above I have a knackered clock and temp gauge for a 1989 jx engine but cannot find a replacement anywhere!! My questions are.........
1. How hard are they to get hold of?
2. Does it have to match up to my jx engine code and can one be used from a petrol in a diesel?

Sorry If these are stupid questions.

no new ones about.

just depends on who is breaking a van or who has a spare they want to sell!

more common now is just get the bits you need.

temp gauge will be the same as petrol but will be rev counter (or not) specific.
although its more common for the blue ribbon circuit to blow than the gauge itself.

also i presume all the connections/earths and sensors have been checked/verified as ok?

Thanks very much for your help Billy, made many phone calls which told me the same thing! But managed to get hold of one (for a kings ransom). My original dash is in a poor state with only the speedo and fuel gauge working.

Try the above - very useful - not sure they are the cheapest but they are very good to deal with :)
On this occasion I won't need a bigger boat...

No probs :)

I like what Cov Kid posted, that's very interesting, personally just like to keep my van original for now. Though something to think about, without a doubt.

It's hard to say what is cheap and what is expensive - if you want the part, then you pay the price. I found Wagonbuild good, i only bought something small but I chatted to him on the phone and he seemed okay. I know there a number of places offering a similar service.

lol, no, beggars can't be choosers, glad you got what you needed though. :)
