La Vendée

Post by hulky »

Bonjour mes amis (hello friends)

Just 3 weeks to go until we head off to France in La Vendée (west coast of France)
We're staying at a campsite called La Garangeoire, looks like a good site (hope so anyway)
We're stopping off on the way down around Jumièges, near part of the River Seine.

Can't wait !!!!

We're also off to the West Coast of France about the same time. We will be going via Paris, Tours and then to Ile d' Oleron just south of La Rochelle, can't wait. :D

Wow, we'll be a bit further south at Montelivet. Off in a couple of weeks too, once shool's out! Have France Passion and Aires guide and all good to go. Van just serviced, just mulling over essential spare parts to take and which euro breakdown cover to get. The dull stuff!

Dreaming of good cheese and bread already!

We are off on 31 July for three weeks further South about 40 miles east of Toulouse about 650 miles or two days driving and lovely overnight stops. We cannot wait but will have to. Watching the tour de France keeps me going as it has now started visiting places like Chateauroux, which incidentally has an excellent camping municipal site. Tip. If you want criossants and bread for breakfast you have to order it as you book in the evening before. Yummy! If we see you we will give you guys a wave.

:ok

This is just an idea

Looks like there's a few going to france( La Vendee) around the same time,What do you think about putting a small list of contacts together in case we need HELP ie breakdowns or anything else,i'm not very good at fixing things but 2 or 3 likeminded brits should be able to sort most problems out, including making tea,and just giving a bit suport :?:

Your thoughts :?:

You will like the vendee its a cross between the norfolk broads and the River Cam very green and peaceful and lots of punts. I prefer the ile d Oleron, so much so we bought a mobile home there.... :ok

Theres plenty of ex pat VW nuts down this way so if you have internet access you can always ask for help

Happy to do contacts, although I'd not be much use beyond the very basics. The only thing is I don't know what mobile no. i'll be on as I'm considering getting a French or international sim card for the trip. Any of you doing France Passion on the waydown or back? Or, got any recommendations from previous trips?

Also, on closer consultation of my various books we're actually off to the Gironde.
