Hi Guys
In two week we are going to set off on a 5 week trip round europe and I'm trying to think of measures to make the van more secure when we leave it places.
What security measures do people have in place to stop people breaking into there vans?
Also how do people with bikes on a bike rack secure these when they are not using them. I thinking that I can just lock the back rack to the roof rack which spans the whole roof and is very difficult to remove.
My other half found some alarm type thing you stick on the windows and apparently it sound the alarm if people try break in.
Thanks in advance
Matt

Re: Van Security
Our bike rack (Fiamma Carrybike 40kg version) is bolted to the tailgate so we use a chain and padlock through and around everything on the back. Inside keep everything of value out of sight and lock all doors and shut all windows (we have the security window vents so they go in automatically) Everything of value document wise (passports, EHIC cards, extra € and £, vehicle documents) is in a safe which is extremely well hidden and bolted into the van. Everything else they can rummage through and it can be replaced.
I always do a double check of anywhere I plan to leave the van though !

Re: Van Security
Thanks for the reply. I have been looking for a nice small safe which I can install somewhere but so far had no luck.
I know JK used to do one but they don't seem to have it anymore.
Anyone got a link to a nice small safe I can install out of sight for passports and documents?

Not a very good idea talking about such things on a public forum.
