This is kind of a continuation of the How many thread. What I want to know is how many of you multiple Syncro owners have a partner.

I have one of these money pits and can barely afford to keep it running. I don't know how so many of you a can afford to keep two or more running and can justify it to the other half. I have spent a fortune over the last few years and really couldn't justify owning more than one. I do a lot of the work myself to keep costs down but even then it costs.
Cheers
Rob.

Maybe you should have given an option of "Partner has resigned themselves to (eventually) having their own T3 to replace the far more reliable, modern and boring car" or "offspring suffering a deprived upbringing to my VW-OCD" ?

I let the mem'sahib know just how much the syncro gearbox rebuild was, so it might get treated with some degree of respect when she's at the wheel

Current stock running at: one syncro and two pain-in-the-ar$e, nothing's-quite-the-same-and-they're-both-very-different SA's.

I did have two on the road simultaneously for a while, then I broke one. Again.

when i met my better half 19 years ago, i was living in a split screen van with a beetle roof welded to the top of it.
that was apparently a good selling point for me.
i was off to a good start.

we are both fussy about the aesthetics of the things we surround ourselves with and with that in mind, i don't see we have much of a choice where cars are concerned.

also, one is my work truck so is run as a business expense, so as a couple we are only really running the camper ( which neither of us would be without.)

Lucy does have a suzuki vanvan for when the weather is dry which helps to save a fortune on fuel (over 80 mpg.)
and the doka runs on cracked WVO for which i pay a mate £1/l which also helps.

Run my own business & claim 45p a mile. Which just about covers petrol costs.....Could get myself a nice new fuel efficient thing.....But I hate them!!!
