1600 td head identification

Hi this is my first post, recently bought 82 camper 1600 TD JX, engine was non runner head gasket problems, badly overheated in past as also picked up one of the piston, head u/s (crack,warped etc) only good bits left is crank. Been looking for replacement motor(would prefer to keep as 1600 as my son is 17 in acouple of years and this is a joint project with him,trying to keep insurance down) looking for JR(golf/jetta). Have found a good head not cracked and flat,owner was uncertain of origin but could be 1600 t/d(golf?) no good for JX has hydraulic tappets, casting no is 068 103 373D can anybody identify ? does anybody know of good bottom end to go with it or a complete 1600TD to sell. any info would be appreciated.

Regarding insurance for your son a 1.9 1Y engine is slightly less bhp than a 1.6td.I was told by HIC insurance no extra premium for a non turbo 1.9 engine.So it might be possible to fit a 1Y make inquires if you can not get a good 1.6td

I am not a lot of help but re insurance - a lot of ins. co.s will not insure under 25's for campers. (unless you are going to take 8 years over the rebuild)

Thanks for replies, first time of using a forum not quite sure what to do? Since first post have found 1600 TD motor, which is on its way now(hopefully be a good un), thanks to golden oldie for your info, Ive had motorhomes for past 7 years and was going to ask my insurer their advice, but I will get onto them sooner. Still would like info ref head identification. again thanks for replies.
