DIY V's Professional with my reupholstery

Our Westfalia Joker has a really nasty homemade 90's upholstery job (like grannies sofa) so I'm very keen to have her redone. I've had a trawl around on the net at various professional upholstery places and have no idea where to start. But I'm also pretty handy with a sewing manchine so contemplating trying to do it myself and ordering vitage fabric. Has anyone done this? and if so what were the results and any advice? I realise it would be cheaper but looking at the underside of the rock n roll I'm not sure how to cope with that.

I had mine re-upholstered professionally.
I saved up and paid up.

Thing is DIY recovering and upholstering (they are different) looks DIY

I had mine done at the same place (Traffic Trim, nr. Wolverhampton).





Worth having it done professionally IMHO. Pricey but once it's done it's done.

yes inclusive of materials and the seats were re-upholstered not just re-covered

paulo 999 and the dozens of Tims customers from 80-90 will agree Tim is good and he's very fast... I must see Tim about having my rear card and slider side done..

They both look fabulous but I wouldn't dare let my scruffy pooch with her sharp little claws anywhere near it. And kids would be banned to a perimeter of 20 paces.

Can I ask if your lovely shiny interior is vinyl or leather?

Does vinyl cope with dogs as well or better than leather?

Trying to work out best options for us n the muts ATM

I could have had either. Tim offers both materials
I chose vinyl as I have no dog

I would say leather scratches like vinyl, but would fair better.
I assume you are worried about sharp claws?
Then I would take steps to ensure an expensive addition to my van was not ruined in one weekend
