New swaging rollers

New rollers arrived today, trial set in ally to see how they run,

ran up a quick form in light sheet, so far it looks promising,
aiming to be able to make the lower rear 1/4's initially as these are not available

Ok, only setting up on "pooh" thin stuff, like repro panal are made off
and working out the tensions to get good form but they are doing good, w'shop locked now but will picky the wear, ,Im working the tension to see where the load comes in and if any needs removing , dont think so yet, I will have to roll a longer piece at the arch end and cut off as it wont form acurately to a stop, not a problem though.
I will make a buckedge to form the return to the wheel arch so as to retain the profile into the seam then its about there.

Hi mike

from the picture you can see the dullness on the corner rads of the male profile. Maybe more clearance is needed, or bigger rads .

Pleased there working as I took a gamble with the centre line position.

No thats the point especially with the ally, it shows how the swage is starting and that the bulk of the work is with this dulled area, in theory we could undercut the middle of the male flank and they would still work,it helps that both rollers are driven so there is zero slippage, i will take an impression in the next day or so and compare it to one of my original swages on the van, 20g metal will be the test, i will post up the results

Suppose you could wave an oxy/cety torch in front of the swages for 1.2mm

Dont need to , ate the 20g, which is what we worked the clearances out for so will play some more with the 1mm after the weekend
