New Member New Purcahse
Hello there, i'm a new member having just bought this off Ebay, 270763611665.
Does anybody out there know the vehicle or anything about it?
I have bought it without seeing it which is something i wouldnt normally do but it as a long way to go and view. Speaking to the seller it all sounds genuine and apparantley rust free.
Just passed MOT with no advisories so it cant be that bad, can it ?

Hi there
I am no syncro expert (at all) but to my eyes that looks like really good buy at that price.
Others will be along soon to add their comments

Hi mate, congrats on purchase. There is a thread on this syncro forum about it, something like ebay syncro, you'll find you will get mixed feeling on here about it, seeing as its got a Ford engine in it
Look forward to seeing more pics, and hope it don't cost you too much fix up

No mystery, just had a bad experience with the seller, no need to share it with the forum, hence the pm.

Looks like a decent van for £2,800, what engine is fitted? says its geman spec 2.3 V6???? Cant be a VR6? I thought they were 2.6-2.8? Some pics of the engine bay would be cool.
Good luck

Re: New Member New Purcahse
The engine is a Ford Cologne 2.3, same family as the 2.8 and 2.9. According to poshbuggers "At a guess I would stick my neck out and say its a Winkler V6 conversion. Very popular in the 80's/early 90's on the continent."
We had that engine over here in the Cortina fora short time. I have had an email from the previous owner and he tells me it was in good shape when he sold it a year ago. So fingers crossed it will be ok.
Dont know how much petrol it will dring driving back to Yorkshire though !!

Re: New Member New Purcahse
Im going to see how bad (or good) the roller paint job is to see if i can live with it. I will re-do the interior to accommodate a rock and roll bed. Not too bothered about a full camper interior, just somewhere to sleep.
I want to be able to transport our mountain bikes and the occasional overnight trip in the wilds.
Does any body know if there will be seat belt mounts built in in the back?
Going to see how the engine performs. I fancy something more modern, lighter and more economical, maybe a Suburu conversion.
Besides that i just want to get it mechanically right and then enjoy some off road fun.
