Inner sill anti corrosion treatment.

Post by pmoc_2001 »

Open for suggestions here.
I noticed that the inside of the inner sill has some kind of corrosion protection yellow in colour. I’m not sure what it is (probably wax as it bubbles and melts when hot).

I was all set to paint the inside of the sill with hammerite, but the wax seems to have done the job it was designed for and stopped corrosion in this area. Clearly I have disturbed some of the wax due to the removal of the lower part of the panel.
Do I:
A. Remove all the wax and re-wax?
B. Paint over the wax with hammerite and hope that exposed areas get a coat?
C. Cover the entire area in fresh cavity wax (Does the brand/ type matter?)
D. Stop worrying and just get the welding done and think about it later?

I’m thinking that C. would be the way to go but I am worried what about compatibility of products?
