Overheating

Post by Plug66 »

HI Im a rookie to all this. Took the plunge and got Petrol 1.9 (DH) and its just started to over heat.

I dont think the fan comes on as cant hear anything. And if short trip and get out its like a kettle bubbling. Back end steaming but Rad not too hot. Also no heat from internal heater.

Which end do I start, Fan motor or Themostat or pump? ...or elseware.
As I said beginer...clueless.

start by bleeding the system. then at least you should have heaters. them monitor the cooling pipes the stat should open before the engine gets too hot. you can normally feel this happening as the pipe up to the rad starts to flow warm water.

thin pipes up to the front are heater pipes bigger ones are cooling pipes to the rad.
