reverse lights faulty

1989 US spec automatic camper, reverse lights flicker when put into R on auto shift, fuses bulbs ok and the microswitch contacts look ok ? any ideas ? thanks

I would say reverse light switch at the base of the auto stick. Prob worn after 20 odd years. HAve you taken the cover of the gear stick to check?
