Any good campsites nr Royan Atlantic coast France?

Post by ELSwervo »

Hello All,

We are going to France in a Few weeks in our T25. We are heading for the Royan area and looking for a nice campsite for a few days.
Does anybody know a good site near this area? Near a beach would be good,(as would a kids swimming pool), like trees, grass and sand plus not too far from some bars etc! its a tall order, but I am sure there is somebody out there who has been before and can point us in the right direction!

Dave

I have been to a number of sites in that area. I cannot remember any particular one, but there are so many in that part of France with many by the coast, some with pools, play areas and bars/restaurants on site. Have a look in a Michelin camping guide book. My tip is stay one night and if you like it book for additional nights the next morning. Bon voyage.

Sadly many posh sites won't accept bookings less than a week these days.

Hello Patrick,

I have just been on Amaz#@ and put the M-guide in my basket, good advice thanks. We have been to France many times, but not this bit, or in a camper for that matter. Should be an adventure, I am up for a bit of wild camping but my good lady is not!(nor are the kids).

Regards, Dave

This looks quite good, have put it on the short/possible list, thank you!

Is there any sort of shuttle bus or transport available to the beach or town?

There's a cycle route to the beach,takes approx 20 mins,and i'm sure there's a bus that goes into town
