Re: T25 misfire misery
Thanks guys, it is a pierburg carb and its been checked and apparently its fine, clean and filter clear. Just trying out different fuel pump and so far so good, keeping everything crossed.
Thinking of getting new ignition amplifier module anyway as you say would give me peace of mind and its got original on now so its probably pretty tired and old. Really appreciate all your ideas and help, thank you!!

Re: T25 misfire misery
If you have the Digital Idle Stabiliser in there (not familar with the model variants over on your side of the pond) , try bypassing it, just remove the two round plugs from the unit and connect them together. You can run indefinitely this way so long as the idle is compensated to run without.
Could also be ignition coil heading toward failure, they're generally very intermittent, and will clear with just a moment to cool off, only to get ugly again minutes later. The same bad coils will bench-test to spec, because the problem isn't breakdown in the windings, it's breakdown in the insulation. If there is even a trace of oily seepage at the coil cap juncture, it is already bad and needs to be replaced.

Not applicable on UK DG engine.

Which doesn't mean that we don't appreciate the input of course

Re: T25 misfire misery
only just seen this thread.....
anyhow, its NOT the ignition amp, they dont play about, they just fail.Kerplunk, stopped, never to go again.
i recon its the fuel pump, and remember to check the length of the push rod for the fuel pump, it should be 100mm .any more than 1mm shorter and it will not allow the pump full capacity, and with a old (dry from standing) pump that means alot.
you should carry a ignition amp as a spare, even if you only hand it to the AA/RaC/GreenFlag/chap or chappess coz non of them will carry one.

Sounds as though you are losing the spark, did you say you have fitted new coil? I had similar problem, turned out to be idle stabiliser, which i disconnected and bypassed

Re: T25 misfire misery
I have exactly the same problem!!! I had it when first bought Lilly and a garage found one of the hoses had a small split sucking in air and weakening the mixture. He sorted that but I now have the same problem again. I have changed all ht leads, plugs, distributor, rotor arm and coil. I do about 6 miles then have to sit for 5 mins then she'll do another 6 miles. I had a hint off someone last weekend to spray WD40 round pipes and if the engine picked up indication of another split in hose, this however has shown nothing. She'll always start straight away just no power. I have seen on Just Kampers that their fuel pump requires some modification, is this a big job or something I could manage myself?
Thanks for all advice in advance.
