Where do all my 12v things go! CI Autohomes T25
Hi all,
I've just got my first camper, shes a 1982 T25 CI Autohomes conversion with the solid sides pop top.
It doesnt have a leisure battery so the water pump / lighting etc all pulls juice off the main battery.
I was wondering if anyone can tell me if all these 12v devices plug into a fuse box somewhere on the CI Autohomes conversion? I was planning on putting a leisure battery in and putting a switch for these 12v supplies so I can run them off the main or leisure.
Any ideas where all the 12v things go? I cant seem to find it and it doesnt look like any wires go from the battery.... might they be into the loom?
Thanks
Steven

i have an auto homes karisma and the leisure battery should be behind the passenger seat and powers all the 12v stuff is it the kamper you have? on mine theres a switch on the zig unit above sink to turn on the 12v etc
dont fix it if its not broke cos after you finish it will be!

It sounds like some tight wad has removed the Aux batt and wired it into the main.
Van and leisure should be separated and never be switch-able.
trace your main power wire to the zig (thick red usually) back to where it connects with the van
there's a wiring diagram in the downloads section ...under club stuff top of the page ^^^^^
titled Karisma leisure electrics.
It's a PDF document

lots of autohomes did not have an aux battery
seems it was an option!
even lots of later stuff had no zig ect
have never figured out why? lol

Hi all,
Billy is right,
There is 100% no leisure battery, when i disconnect the battery nothing works... so thats proven,
Also 100% no zig unit...
Why should the 12v stuff never be switchable? sounded like a good idea to me

Keeping it separate means you'll...
A. Always get home.
B. Always have more power than the starter.
C. Never have to remember to switch it.
D. Never destroy a leisure battery by starting the van with it.
Need more?

there's a great universal guide in the wiki to fit your own split charge system to run an aux battery
couple that with the diag. You should be ok.

Thanks all!
I really do think I should wire in a second battery,
Would you recommend me buying this kit?

After that do I just need the battery?
Thanks

Re: Where do all my 12v things go! CI Autohomes T25
to be honest, you just need a standard 45 amp relay
you could use a 70 amp if you really want to , but chances are you only have a 45 amp altenator any how.
ingintion feed the relay so its only on with the ignition , and run a wire from the + of the main batt to the + of the aux batt. earth to chassis as normal. couple of fuses in line
thats prob the simplest of ways.
also no need for a leisure type battery , just a simple standard 063 similar to the main battery will be more than adequate.
from there up just depends how much you want to spend, right up to zig unit and rewire!

Just for the record, Autohomes gave a prospective owner a 'wish list' of options - if they ticked it they got it; if they didn't they didn't. That's why some have a TV, Propex, Zig etc. Must admit, I didn't think the leisure battery was optional though.............. My money's on someone removing it
