Door Card Fix?

Post by SeasideVanagon »

Hi

My van has electric windows - the door cards around the window the electric window switches have bulged outwards - the windows still work but the cards themselves have an bulge.

Any idea on what causes this - how easy it to fix - how would I fix it?

Many thanks

James
On this occasion I won't need a bigger boat...

If you have had speakers fitted, then the membrane behind probably hasn't been sealed so water has soaked into the card and 'blown' it. No good cure really, so best to carefully remove the vinyl cover, and use the old cards as templates for new ones and re-fix the vinyl. And dont forget to sort the membrane out before you refit or you'll be soon doing it all again :D
