got a constant air leak from rim on one back tyre. Tubed the other one 6months ago and hasn't need air since. Is it best to tube or not to tube tyres?

When did we start using tubeless tires? Punctures were a lot easier to repair then, needed a few more balancing weights. If it saves the cost of a new rim I am all for it. One problem with them is if they are run under inflated they can creep round and put strain on on the valve.
It isn't as though we are doing constant 150 mph journeys down the autobahn, our 60 mph vehicles are, in my opinion, suitable for running tubed tyres.

Wouldn't have thought twice about it really.... I have always fitted tubes if there was a problem with the rim.

Agreed, parked mine up and overnight nsf flat , so down to my scrappy (I use his tyre machine0 and of with the tyre , no nails or anything but notice the valve stem dont look too happy so fit a new one and now sorted, there was a start of a tear/failure, stems only a quid so might do the other 4 (dont neglect your spare cos one day it wont be
