another zig question

Post by billybigspud »

hi
i have a zig cf8 and am going to wire as per the manufacturers instructions on here. my question is, can i use an intelligent split charger to run the fridge? as i believe, they detect a rise in voltage, 15v or so and the make the contact. so if i am charging the leisure battery off of mains, is it going to back feed down the wire that goes between the crank battery and zig unit, therefore operating the the split charger and turning the fridge onto 12v when i dont want it to be.
and no i haven't been drinking and yes, i have totally confused myself. :?
basically, i dont know how a zig works inside and i dont want to use an ignition trigger.

I prefer good old fashioned hard wiring so I'm not familiar with intelligent relays. Am I right in assuming there is only two connections on it and one of those is a designated sensing connection which much be connected to the starter battery?
