Anyone convinced their insurance companies to drop their premiums because the vehicle is fitted with a tracker?

Due to having the camper stolen (and recovered needing repair) my insurance companies on the camper and doka insist on the tracker as a term of cover. There is no discount for it but no matter how much shopping around I did the answer was the same.

So I'm going to drop this in the public domain, and mods act as you see fit, but y'all need to check out Skytag and mention the VZi deal they did last December.

OK it's still subject to 48v frying but easy to "hide" in a relay panel, full of other similar relays.
On the face of it, cheap and cheerful but effective.

Mercedes have a device called an 'over voltage protection relay' ..... I wonder would that help? An OVP relay costs about €130 !!

The OVP (overvoltage protection) relay uses a Zener diode to act as a voltage regulator, spike suppressor. The diode allows current above a certain voltage to pass through the fuse to ground. Small spikes are just shunted larger ones blow the fuse.

The device is similar to a UPS (uninterruptable power source/whatever) for the car computors that are hooked to it.
