A front outer CV boot.
A couple of bolts for the drive shafts - Spline head M8 fine
A spline tool to fit - preferably built into a socket and a bit longer than standard
GL4 or GL5 oil for the front diff
Rustoleum paint
So the Chase started at German Swedish and French. They don't like T25s

Motorists discount centre up the road - well they had Comma Diff oil atleast and some CV grease. But couldn't even find the T25 in their books. No its not a T5, Yes I'm sure !
VW main dealer couldn't find the Syncro, let alone the front driveshaft on their EKTA (Sp?) computer system. They did have some bolts. -3 of the 7 the computer listed and different to the ones that came off. (I hope this doesn't cause some balance issues?)
I forgot to compare the Rustoleum colour chart before we set off, so bypassed that one.
So the local hero at marparts tomorrow and see if I can find a universal one to fit ? They list 2 spline tools 55mm or 100mm so I'll look at access tomorrow and decide which.
Well atleast I can get the Diff, propshaft (Which way round - rubber bit at the front ? or at the back, bentley manual says the back for injection engines ? mine is the passat TDi ?) and a VC on and actually have a 4WD !
I've also purchased some BF Goodrich 215,75 R15s only 4 though so would looking out for a spare. I was hoping to put them on my friends spare Merc sprinter wheels, but the offset looks wrong ? I though these might be stronger than the C class wheels. But the hub/wheel centre sticks out loads and will get clouted if i ever get off road.
So the aim is to get it on the road and up to Oswestry and meet up with some of you guys- so you can kick tyres and laugh, and maybe offer me lots of constructive advice.
So - back to the point - driveshafts - are they the same front and rear ? 2WD/4WD ? Boots the same ??
I was planning to do the front boot from the inside - while the diff is off - remove a circlip and take the shaft out from the inner end - does that sound plausible ?
Thanks for your advice
Rich
