Keeps stalling, why?
Ok fair enough when cold I expect the van to cut out at the first couple of junctions, but why when warm? Battery and connections are all good.

Re: Keeps stalling, why?
fuel related
has the idle speed cut off become disconnected or faulty?
stalling is a symptom of an air leak on the inlet side (vacuum pipes, servo hose, gasket leak, choke pull down unit faulty)
or a blocked idle jet

Re: Keeps stalling, why?
When you've eliminated that we can check the fueling through the carb, choke operation etc

I had the self same problem on mine, the flexible sleeve on the vacumn unit had split so wasn't doing its job. One new sleeve later and it cured the problem.

Re: Keeps stalling, why?
I checked the servo hose and found it to be melted at the end so i cut it off, still stalling though so need to follow the rest of the recommendations

yep, this is the bit i cut off the end.
Been on it again tonight and checked pretty much everything and it seems better especially as i turned the idle screw in the side. Bit lumpy though, a sort of cough as it ticks over, i know i need a new distributor cap and possibly the timing to be done, so i can use my old stobe light from my mini days.
Couldnt find the points though as there was a big round metal thing where the points normally are, what is this?

I had a similar problem, sometimes the fuel pump may seem to be pumping fine but may be slack on actual pressure delivered to the carb. There a cheap replacement in the overall scheme of things

Re: Keeps stalling, why?
poor leads, plugs, worn or burnt valves, poor compression on more than one cylinder can all cause lumpy idle, as can minor air leaks on the carb (search for 'Roger Ball' on here). Case of doing some readings and ruling out each in turn. And theres no points, you have electronic ignition - a better alternative to points which need repeated adjustment.
