Excellent, nice to see some more decent work being done,Its often better to fit a good s/h panal as in you rear 1/4,than to dick with what was..also nice to see some good welding/brazing of the screen area, what colour you going to do it..

Thanks for the complement, the welding is being done by our mate jon. I'm getting excellent at making tea for him.

The colour is being kept original, marsala red.

Tea! ah yes I like propper tea, keep brewing it and keep the picks coming theres never too many of them, painted and bolting bits on is run of the mill, its the work being done thats best to see IMHO

These vehicles are always full of surprises as everyoone is or should be aware off. Well the next stage was the near side rear arch which looked like this:-



And after some grinding to see what's what, this was found!!!



A perfectly good arch, the inner arch is spot on also. What a lovely surprise, it certainly makes up for the problematic other side. We now have a brand new arch panel for sale, I'll put it in the sale section.

The new tail gate has now gone on to check the alignment, the new sliding door is ready to go on to be checked, what a nighmare to remove the bolts from the door fittings, I think they were tighened with jet power!!

Yeh, on that pain of a so and so rear corner, and my vet bill So my only transport was in the garage and my dog at the vets, nightmare.

Ahh sad, sorry about the mut.. mine is off for his annual check as he has tablets for life so they need a dip into my pocket before 'scibing them

Tomorrow we are cleaning some more interior whilst the welder, welds some more, probably the O/S inner arch.

true words. the cleaning bits is ok, I was lucky as I did mine last summer as you know, so sat in the sun with a beer and some sounds and washed or used thinners or whatever, just nice to get a break from welding etc. but well worth doing as you then have bits that are as mint and overhauled as possible,

Ok, another update, the camper has now moved to the paint shop, we seized the moment whilst a lift on a recovery truck was available.

The replacement tail gate and sliding door have been fitted to check the alignment, they are spot on, it now looks like a harlequin model.

The dent removal begins, this side has/had a dent from purchase, a door opening dent , plus a couple of others that needed attention. The plan is, we are doing most of the work ourselves under the watch of the body shop to keep the costs down. We've never done this area of vehicle work before, this is our first attempt, we are really pleased, we could not have done it without all the help though.

Note - the old ariel hole has gone from an out of shape mess to a lovely smooth area.





I'm having a lesson on priming next, it's all very exciting.

Right time for an update, it seems like ages ago that I last posted about 'Molly', well after many hold ups and reasons beyond my control,

She now looks like this-:





This week we have been putting her back together, she now has headlining, windows a sliding door and a front heater. Tomorrow I'm attempting to put the dash back in, fingers crossed for me please. Since I left the camera behind, I'll put more pics up ASAP. These two were taken on my phone.

PS. That splodge on the floor is someones spilt drink, it's not from my engine.

And saying that having the bodyshop there to cast an eye helps... and that from a health and safety perspective, one should wear a mask when rubbing down the filler
