Night Heater

Post by Sir Brixalot »

Bit of advice please - My heater has seized, I'm living without it for the summer. Been quoted £400 to replace and think money would be better used for a night heater. My question is can a night heater be used whilst the van is being driven - its a diesel by the way.

Remove the dash yourself using the wiki article and fix the heater yourself. Now is the time when it's warm and 'supposedly' dry

£400.00 !!!!

New blower motor £38.00
About 4 - 5hrs for a tradesperson...around £180 - £225

Not a massively technical job just time consuming, certainly not beyond you average/good DIYer

Did have a good look at wiki. Can only work on road and didn't fancy laying the steering wheel down. My thinking is still that money is better spent on a proper night heater. Thanks for the advice though

Boat yes, but wbx would mean pulling dash, cutting holes, running duct, yadda, yadda ... Might as well just fix/replace fan.
