Timing 1800 1982 Aircooled

Post by john1 »

Hi Folks

Im going to check the timing on my 1800 T25 1982.
My manual doesn't give setting for the 1800.

Can anyone give me a simple run down on settings at idle and on rev please?

Much apppreciated in advance

They didn't put an 1800cc engine in the T25 only a 1600 or 2000 air cooled. They fitted an 1800 to bay windows which could have fitted in place of the correct engine but you will need to give us the engine code.

Would this be the code I'm looking for?
Found next to the Dizzy, CU055972.

Hello,

Mark your distributor body and the pinch bolt arm with a dot of tippex or similar b4 playing with timing.

Please give details of your engine: what ignition setup, what carbs, etc.

I'll be posting, (via Thea and orange 'tilly tango') a quick movie on setting the points on a CU set up.

Provisionally entitled :Dont confuse dwell angle with ignition timing :rofl :rofl

Cordialement,

:ok
