sankey trailers
Right vans not on the drive, and i'm bored. Syncros and Nato hitches, can you just remove the ball and bolt one one? Or can the ring be removed from the trailer and replaced with a normal hitch?

Re: sankey trailers
wonder if this would just bolt on?

So it's not just a matter of unbolting the ball then? Is it a different setup altogether then?toomanytoys wrote:Even the smaller ones aint light tho.. leave em to the landy boys...

Re: sankey trailers
Westie T3 Syncro Nato hitches do exist, different beast not just bolt on off, different fittings, if you are passing Switzerland Ooor Wullie has one for sale, Russel has one I think, very rare generally, probably only a few hundred ever made, like the NATO canopies rocking horse droppings, Sankey trailers very chunky, better building your own personalised expedition trailer using same wheel rims as your truck imho

Re: sankey trailers
Guess that'll go on the back burner then
As for building your own, can you just buy a chassis and make it up? Or do you have to fabricate the whole thing? (not that i'm gonna rush out and make one) I saw sandwedge started looking at making them, but i'm not after anything that posh/expensive

Re: sankey trailers
The NATO towbar is just like the westie one, except the central bracket is different and puts the 4 mounting holes for the NATO hitch (different pattern to a normal towbar) at the same level as the main horizontal tube. It wouldn't be hard to make a good replica from a spare 2WD westie towbar. The bumper has a hole cut out that fits over the bracket.
