Post by Tony Tone »

Ive been offered a nearly new fuel pump. The sticker on it says ' This pump must be installed in engines with 99.5mm pushrod tubes'. I have a 1983 1.9 DG, can I use it ?

Measure your pushrod .... I bet it's less than 100mm anyway

0.5 mm is close enough with a 20 odd year old engine i'd say.....
im betting you couldnt measure it accurately enough within 0.5mm without using more than a ruler anyway!!
i had to use a vernier on mine to get anywhere near within those figures!

I will be fine. They only put that sticker on there so you don't stick it on an Aircooled engine with a dynamo which has a 108mm pushrod without using a 100mm push rod.
