Early sliding door rust - worth saving?

Post by ben50 »

is it worth saving or do I need to get searching for that rare factory windowed early sliding door?

Finally got around to pulling off the gaffa tape and after a poke around uncovered this:

Be a bit of a messy repair, bottom inner and outer no problem, need to make another bit to join the skin :rofl all dead do-able, but really might be easier for you to source another door, as for the factory glass, well cut the door top off and graft it to new door if its not got it, and if it has then there is always a smalllllllllllllllllll market for a factory top

Cheers, for the reply, I've now bitten the bullet and started the repair, It's probably not going to be the best looking bit of bodywork, but at least it won't have a great big hole filled with newspaper and filler any more!
