Sliding Door card

Post by bitler1@gmail.com »

Morning All,

The door card on the sliding door of my westy has broken free at the back - so it catches on the door striker at the back unless you hold it against the door from the inside as you open it. On closer inspection the plastic clips that hold it on the door have broken out of the the card. Has anyone experienced this and if so, what was the fix?

Can't just replace the clips as they're now too small for the holes in the door card. Also, is the door easy to remove? Would rather not as it works well at the moment, but the door card's a pain to get to with it on!

Any (relevant) advice welcome!

Phil

I had this problem, as a temp fix I put a self tapper in to the door to hold the flapping bit of the card.

I fixed by making a new door card from thin ply covered with cheap cord carpet.
It cost about a tenner and took a couple of hours from start to finish.
