Identify Injection pump/LDA/ Turbo

Post by pocolow »

Hi everyone just need a bit of help identifying the injection pump /lda set up on my 1.6td van. One of the previous owners replaced the engine with a 1.6td engine from a Golf ? with some of the bits off the old JX engine (mongrel) Also the turbo is not a standard JX turbo as it appears to have additional "holes" that nothing is attached to? It all works but I'm trying to find out if it is set up right....any help would be welcome.

Hello Mr Pocolow. (Mark)
What makes you think you have a Golf (Mongrel) engine fitted?.
Personly it looks just like the same engine that I was Farting around with at first on my Venture from Air-Cold to water, I think on looking at the piccys it is the same layout as the SB which was fitted to the Audi,80-90. Passat Estate. (Merc,Dr) is running same engine, also to my knoledge/count about 5 Club members.
The Extra holes on the Turbo are for Water to pass through to additionaly help the cooling, As you have found out through driving there isn,t any loss of power, or performance with no water passing through to aid more cooling.
On the underside L/H, of the block, is there a blanking core plug ?

Hope this info helps in identifying your question on what engine you have----------------- :ok
