Help with daughter's Type 2

Post by tone »

Advice please if possible. My daughter has a Type 2. Over the past two years bank of Dad has bought her a new engine and gearbox and ancillary other stuff - the van is an absolute money pit and now it failed an mot on chassis rust above front axle (?). Apparently you can buy a plate that can be welded on the chassis or so she has been led to believe ! Has anyone heard of this - is it feasible? She lives in Lewisham South London - is there somewhere around there that could do this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated .

You could try posting this on volkzone but be careful because some over there don't play nice.
