Guide rail cover
Hi folks
Does the cover over the sliding door rail just knock upwards and off after removing the two self tappers ?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Guide rail cover
Yes but it takes a lot of twatting if it hasn't been off before.
oh, and you have to hold it slightly outwards to get the lugs over the screw fixing bits

Re: Guide rail cover
Good tip about holding out before "twatting" it (technical term m'lud).
Is the seal/piping that sits between it and the body still available?

Re: Guide rail cover
Perhaps a little WD40 either side of the rubber strip? Bit messy but it might help. They can be buggers to get off - once the lugs have cleared the 'van sticky out bits the screws go in' (another technical term
) you no longer have to hold it outwards which might help..............
I loosened one end before the other if I remember correctly

Re: Guide rail cover
I find if you can ease the seal out first then the cover pops off easily.

Re: Guide rail cover
Doesn't the lip of the seal and the lip of the cover overlap each other preventing that? (Did mine 2 years ago so I'm struggling to remember)pocolow wrote:I find if you can ease the seal out first then the cover pops off easily.

Re: Guide rail cover
Vag seal does not come off as it has a lip that slides onto the cover
