Schofields repair panels.

Post by jimpainter »

Is it just me or are there repair panels getting worse and worse. Fitted a few steps to vans but they seem to get harder to line up. Got one recently and it was just way beyond use. None of the profiles lined up so i tried to use bits off it. Still not usable so its going back  . Also put on a front arch which was better but as usual the radius is all wrong and end up with a slightly bigger gap where the arch curves round. Body cuts from now on if i can. :x

Some one will make a killing selling better quality..
The folks that have them now want to keep them more and more
As these old ladies need new tin, hopefully something will eventually emerge like the bay scene, as they convulsed for a time

Im hoping someone like autocraft will do something soon. Used there split panels a few times and they are brilliant. Minimum of hassle to fit. :ok

in my experience the after market panels seem to be made so that they will just pop over the areas they are made for, i used them successfully for a few years, i just resigned myself to the fact that they were always a rough estimate of the real thing. as for the quality of the metal, ill leave you to draw your own conclusions :?

Your having a Giraffe. No such thing these days as a genuine arch. All 4 are obsolete from everywhere

We all need to bombard VW Classic Parts with requests for wheel arches and they may then get the message that they need to re-produce them?

I agree entirely
How about an E- petition from 80-90 to them demanding better quality and supply.

I would be up for that. Something has got to be done really.
